A weekly reflection from the Shared Light community
Hello, friends,
You know those weeks that don't go according to plan? The ones that force you to hit pause when you'd rather keep pushing forward? That was us this week, and honestly, it turned out to be exactly what we needed.

When Our Bodies Said "Not So Fast"
Both Dustie and I got knocked down by illness this week. Nothing dramatic, just one of those bugs that reminds you that you're human and your body gets the final vote on your schedule. For a couple of days, we were relegated to bed rest, cancelled plans, and that frustrating feeling of watching the world move forward while you're stuck in slow motion.
But here's the thing about being forced to slow down together: it created space for something beautiful.
The Silver Lining We Didn't See Coming
While we were recovering, something unexpected happened. Instead of feeling isolated or frustrated, we found ourselves more connected than we'd been in weeks. Those quiet days became opportunities for deeper conversations, shared meals in bed, and the kind of presence that gets lost in the rush of normal life.
When we finally had enough energy to work, we tackled projects side by side, editing podcast content, brainstorming ideas, and putting finishing touches on something we're really excited to share with you.
Introducing Our New Hub: The Lead Weld
Speaking of exciting news, we've officially launched sharedlightllc.us, our new business venture we're calling "The Lead Weld." Think of it as the industrial-strength complement to everything we do here at Shared Light.

Where our podcast focuses on the heart and soul of relationships and personal growth, The Lead Weld dives into the structural side, the systems, tools, and industry insights that help you build something lasting. It's about optimizing your engine and amplifying your voice with precision and grit.
We're calling it "The Lead Weld" because the strongest connections require both heat and pressure. Whether you're building a business, strengthening a relationship, or developing yourself, the principles are the same: authentic foundation, structural alignment, and permanent trajectory.
A Day That Required Extra Light
I need to share something personal with you all. Today marks one year since my mom passed away. It's one of those anniversaries that sits heavy in your chest, no matter how much healing you've done. I've been trying to stay busy, to keep my hands and mind occupied, because sometimes forward motion is the only way through the grief.
Working on the podcast and launching this new venture has been more than just professional development; it's been a lifeline. There's something about creating, about building something meaningful, that helps channel the love that has nowhere else to go.
What We're Learning About Resilience
This week taught us something important about resilience. It's not about pushing through everything or never slowing down. Sometimes resilience looks like resting when you need to rest, connecting when you need connection, and creating when you need purpose.
The illness forced us to pause, but it also gave us permission to be present with each other in a way that our busy schedules often don't allow. The anniversary of loss reminded us why we do this work: because life is precious and unpredictable, and the connections we build matter more than we sometimes remember.
Building While Healing

As we launch The Lead Weld and continue growing Shared Light, we're learning that you can build dreams while processing grief, create while recovering, and move forward while honoring what you've lost. It's not about choosing between productivity and healing; it's about finding ways to let them support each other.
This Week's Reflection
Sometimes the weeks that don't go according to plan teach us the most. This week reminded us that slowing down isn't always a setback; sometimes it's exactly what you need to reconnect with what matters most. Whether it's your health, your relationships, or your purpose, life has a way of creating space for what you need, even when you don't realize you need it.
What has life been teaching you when it forces you to slow down? How do you find light in the difficult days?
We're grateful to share this journey with you, through the planned weeks and the unexpected ones, through the celebrations and the quiet moments of remembering.
Thanks for being part of our community and for letting us share both our light and our shadows with you.
Until next time, JR & Dustie
