A weekly reflection from the Shared Light community
Hello, friends,
Ever have one of those weeks that feels like a movie montage? That was us, complete with the triumphant music, the unexpected plot twists, and those quiet moments that somehow mean the most.
The Big Launch (Finally!)
After years of "someday we should..." conversations, we actually did it. Shared Light LLC is officially live! (Curious? Check out sharedlightllc.com) It's wild how something can feel both like a huge milestone and just the beginning all at once. We're equal parts proud and terrified, which feels about right for any dream worth chasing.

The Real Talk Moment
Let's be honest about something: this week wasn't all celebration and forward momentum. Dustie had a really tough day, and it reminded us that even when life is moving in beautiful directions, we still have to navigate the shadows. What struck us most was how we've learned to sit with each other in those moments without trying to fix everything. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is just... be present.
A Surprise I Didn't See Coming
Plot twist: I'm graduating from college in December instead of next spring! My advisor dropped this news on me mid-week, and I'm still processing it. Sometimes life accelerates in ways you don't expect, and you realize you're more ready than you thought you were.

The Ordinary Magic
Our daughter's orchestra concert reminded us why we love being parents. Not because she was perfect (though she was pretty amazing), but because watching someone you love pursue something they care about is pure joy. These moments don't make headlines, but they make life worth living.
Stolen Time and Shared Dreams
I ducked out of work early to grab lunch with Dustie, and we ended up talking about our business plans. There's something beautiful about how shared dreams can turn any conversation into quality time. We're building something together, and that feels like its own kind of intimacy.
When School Projects Become Family Adventures
A simple assignment turned into this whole family production involving way too much food, genuine laughter, and yes, making a random stranger smile. (It was part of the project, but still counts!) These are the moments that remind you that joy often shows up in the most unexpected packages.

The Thread That Holds It All Together
Through everything going on, the launches, the struggles, the celebrations, and the ordinary Tuesday moments, I still kept showing up for my workouts. It sounds small, but taking care of myself has become this anchor that keeps everything else in perspective.
What We're Learning
This week taught us something important: you can hold multiple truths at once. You can be excited about new ventures and worried about the unknown. You can celebrate wins and sit with someone in their pain. You can work toward big dreams and find meaning in small moments.
Life isn't asking us to choose between the light and the shadows; it's asking us to show up for all of it with open hearts.
What's one thing that surprised you about yourself this week? We're genuinely curious about your stories.
Thanks for letting us share ours with you.
Until next time, JR
